Accessibility statement
Accessibility is not a feature here. It is the foundation.
A vision-education practice has no excuse for an inaccessible website. This page states what this site does, what it targets, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.
Conformance target
This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with several practices beyond AA:
- Body-text contrast above 15:1 — well past the AAA threshold of 7:1
- An 18px default type size with short, 66-character measure lines
- No carousels, no auto-playing anything — a deliberate design decision, not an omission
Built-in accessibility toolbar
Look at the bottom corner of any page. The toolbar gives every visitor:
- Text sizing up to 137% without breaking layout
- High-contrast mode — true black-on-white with strengthened underlines
- Legible-font mode — Atkinson Hyperlegible, the typeface the Braille Institute designed specifically for low-vision readers
- Reduced motion — also applied automatically if your device requests it
Settings are stored only on your device. This site runs no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party scripts of any kind.
Structural commitments
- Semantic HTML landmarks and a logical heading order on every page
- Full keyboard operability with a visible focus indicator everywhere
- A skip-to-content link as the first element of every page
- Forms with real labels, instructions, and error messages — not placeholder-only fields
- Works fully with JavaScript disabled — every enhancement degrades gracefully
